Suggestions
Welcome to the Redgate Monitor feature suggestions list. Tell us how we can improve Redgate Monitor by voting on these suggestions or by submitting your own ideas.
This is the easiest way to make an impact on Redgate Monitor’s roadmap. Check out the completed suggestions to see how your ideas have influenced us in the past. Please note that this list is one of multiple sources that drive our development, meaning that we will not always implement the highest-ranking suggestions.
To give your idea the greatest possible impact, please follow these guidelines:
- Describe the goal you’re trying to accomplish, rather than a specific solution to get there
- If you have a favoured solution, add it as a comment to your suggestion
- Give us as much context as possible
- Only make one suggestion per post. If you have multiple ideas, submit them in separate posts
- Comment and vote on existing posts to develop the ideas — the Redgate Monitor team will often stay quiet initially about new suggestions to see what you have to say!
If you have any questions visit the Redgate Monitor forum.

Add Index rebuild command into alert mail
I get sometimes Fragmented Index alerts as mail.
To fix it , I have to copy every single index name into the clipboard, switch to SSMS, write “ALTER INDEX ”, insert the index name and let SQL Prompt add the AS <table> and finally have to add the word REBUILD.
Why do you not make it simpler for me (and other customers) and add just another column that already contains the whole INDEX REBUILD command (or REORGANIZE if the fragmentation is low) to the mail / web frontent.
It's still to me, if I want to execute it or if…

Want to monitor SingleStore Databases
As part of our infrastructure, we utilize SingleStore databases, and we would greatly benefit from monitoring capabilities within your platform. Given its MySQL-based architecture, we believe incorporating SingleStore monitoring into RedGate’s suite would enhance visibility, optimize performance tracking, and streamline database operations.
We kindly request that you consider adding SingleStore database monitoring at the earliest opportunity.

Monitoring of Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server
With the introduction of monitoring of MysQL it should also be great if we can get monitoring of Azure Database for MySQL Flexible Server.

We would like to have a log of users that did use RedGate Monitor
In that way we could create a report of the users when they did use RedGate Monitor. example a weekly or monthly report showing how many times a user did use the application.

SQL Versions Page
Hi there,
We maintain a number of legacy SQL Servers that are still monitored via SQL Monitor. I regularly use the SQL Versions page to identify which instances require patching.
However, some of these servers are under a permanent patch freeze, and I’d like to update their status to “OK” so they no longer appear as needing attention.
It would be amazing if one could update the patch status for these servers within Redgate to mark them as compliant to reflect their frozen state.

Grant Web Client Access for Specific Elastic Pool, Instance or Database
We can currently share the web console out at the Server, Cluster or Replica level.
I would like more granularity and be able to share at lower levels:- SQL Server Instance
- Azure SQL Elastic Pool
- Azure SQL Database
We are a very large IT department with people dedicated to individual systems/databases.
I would prefer to hide things they don't own.3 votes -
Tracked queries only available to admins
Tracked queries are only available for Administrators. Would it be possible to adjust the permission for Standard users to allow for this feature? At the moment we are forced to assign admin roles more broadly than we’d like because of insufficient granularity of permissions.
And this feature (especially if combined with some metadata as highlighted in https://sqlmonitor.uservoice.com/forums/91743-suggestions/suggestions/46675642-ability-to-add-notes-to-tracked-queries ) is a shame to not allow standard users to utilize.3 votes -
that DevOps team that can only monitor their own database can also suspend them without having administrator rights
at the moment when people have administrator rights within Redgate Monitor they can suspend their databases but also all other databases we monitor. we would like to be able to grant teams rights to only be able to suspend the databases that they use and have rights to see within Redgate Monitor.

Analytics Dashboard Selection Parameters
On the Analysis Dashboard there are lots and lots of Metrics. Not all of them are Availbale for ervery RDBMS. It would be good to have switches to narrow down the Metrics to SQL-Server or Postgres Parameters, e.g. if you swich on Postgres only Metrics for Postgres Servers are shown.

Show Estate Groups in the "For" Dropdowns in Reports
In the Reports section, there is a "For" dropdown that allows you to select specific instances or "Everything". It would be helpful to be able to select a Groups of instances on the report or individual tiles within the report. These groups are setup in Configuration > Estate > Groups.
For example, you could group your servers into Production/Staging/Dev, then you'd be able to setup a report that only shows Production metrics/issues.

OpenID Connect client certificate or LDAPS
My company does not support OpenID "only client secret" and requests that Redgate Monitor use Client Certificate when authenticating users with Entra. Can you implement Client Certificate Support? Alternatively, how about to expand LDAP implementation to utilize SSL?

Pass tags through the webhook json
I would like something like {{Target-tag}} to pass through the webhook, this will allow us to better spilt the alerts to the correct team on the other side so that 1 team isn't having to get all the alerts, but using other integrations and wrokflows with something like a tag we can spilt the alerts to different teams based on target and severity, but also with shared servers the tags will allow us to spilt those alerts as well.

Improved Notification Methodology
It would be much to our advantage if notifications were their own object that could be tied to an object and inherited. This would allow us to tie the same notification to multiple alarms and make changes to all associated objects at once. Separating the notification from the alert would allow us flexibility with much simpler notification management. This feature would also allow us to look at things backwards to determine which alerts are tied to a given notification target.
Additionally, with a separate notifcation object we would gain the ability to have a different notifcation tied to Critical alerts…

Re-Check an alert
It would be helpful to have a "ReCheck Monitor" button for all of our alerts in Monitor. We have some checks that are only performed once per day. When those checks create alerts, we make quick work of resolution, but the alert doesn't clear for a long time (next day). It would be very helpful to have a button to force an immediate re-check. This would validate the fix and get us back to an all-green status quickly.

We learned from a support ticket (and experience) that network utilization is monitoring in full duplex, therefore the maximum utilization is 200% instead of 100%. Unfortunately, I'm unable to modify our monitoring configuration to have thresholds above 100%. In a perfect world, network utilization would be split into two alerts, one for send and one for receive, this way we could manage the utilization limits separately. But if the perfect solution is not possible, then we'd at least like to be able to enter thresholds above 100% so we can alert at 150% utilization (for example).

Select multiple groups for "latest alerts" sidebar
It would be great if we could select multiple groups in the latest alerts. For example, PostgreSQL Prod and PostgreSQL Dev/Test.
Background: We work in several subteams, such as Postgres and MSSQL. I would like to see only the latest alerts for PostgreSQL Prod and Test, and not for the other groups. And I don't want to switch the groups from PG Prod to PG dev.

Be able to see in the overviews panel how much RAM my monitored instances are consuming just like I can see CPU and Disk IO for example.
I want to monitor how much RAM my instances are consuming while I'm in the overviews panel and even though I can go to a specific panel for checking this specific counter it'd be useful to havr it in the single overviews panel and not moving back and forth.
