Suggestions
Welcome to the Redgate Monitor feature suggestions list. Tell us how we can improve Redgate Monitor by voting on these suggestions or by submitting your own ideas.
This is the easiest way to make an impact on Redgate Monitor’s roadmap. Check out the completed suggestions to see how your ideas have influenced us in the past. Please note that this list is one of multiple sources that drive our development, meaning that we will not always implement the highest-ranking suggestions.
To give your idea the greatest possible impact, please follow these guidelines:
- Describe the goal you’re trying to accomplish, rather than a specific solution to get there
- If you have a favoured solution, add it as a comment to your suggestion
- Give us as much context as possible
- Only make one suggestion per post. If you have multiple ideas, submit them in separate posts
- Comment and vote on existing posts to develop the ideas — the Redgate Monitor team will often stay quiet initially about new suggestions to see what you have to say!
If you have any questions visit the Redgate Monitor forum.

View stats for queries across databases and / or servers
Given that one has multiple similar databases, recieving the same queries, having same indexes and so forth. Currently one are able to view top-queries on server and database level, but what would be very valuable is to see the same information across databases on a server and across servers where one would then match the query on a content of the query itself. Then one could pinpoint globally what queries that has high io / cpu / ... even tough they on a individual db-level is not "high"

Create smaller timeframes on the server overview page.
Currently if you dive into the overview page of a certain server the default timeframe is 24 hours, you can narrow this into 12,6,3 and 1 hour.
I would like to have the opportunity to narrow it down into minutes.like a custom time frame. This helps to do a more clean investigation.

Remember the Filter Layout
On the Alert Inbox it would be nice to be able to re-arrange the filters and for the options to be remembered no matter where I login.

SQL Monitor to Authenticate Directly with Office 365, Exchange Online
Hello, it would be great if SQL Monitor could authenticate directly with Office 365 rather than having to use an on-premises SMTP server. Exchange Online is probably the most widely used email service for business and the application is unable to successfully authenticate with it. Thanks.

Create a threshold for how many times a job can fail before raising an alert.
We have jobs that fire every minute, or every 5 minutes - similar to heartbeat jobs. If the job fails once or twice, we don't care. If it fails 10 times in a row we do care.

azure overview
Azure SQL databases display differently than SQL server databases on the overview page, which makes them difficult to see. And even with the Azure SQL databases, there are further differences if the databases are members of elastic pools or not.
Please change the Overview Page to either a) show them more consistently, since there's no other indication of what's different.
or b) rearchitect the way Azure SQL DBs are displayed on the overview page so it's clear they are Azure SQL and that would also give you the ability to show them whatever way makes the most sense for the…3 votes -

"Take Screenshot" Feature in Analysis Section
I have the need very often to take screenshots for non-technical management slideshows.
Could you add a button in the analysis panel to take a screenshot of the analysis timeline?
I would like to obtain something like this (with a single click)

Increase SQL Monitor email Alerts to larger than 400 KB
We have some alerts for important servers that require you to login to SQL Monitor to see the full details because they exceed 400 KB. The alert currently reads:
"Details
Details omitted because they exceeded 400KB. Please log into SQL Monitor to view them.
View full alert details
Configure alert"Please increase this value so that we can see the full alert details within an email instead of having to login to SQL Monitor to see them.
Thank-you!

Select custom date range in Estate - SQL Agent Jobs
Would like to be able to view SQL Agent Jobs between dates. Currently you can pick from Day - Week - Month but it would be really good to have "Custom" also which allows you to select start and end date.

For the "Job failing" alert, add the ability to exclude job categories
The "Job failing" alert currently has the ability to exclude jobs based on job name and owner. It would be very useful to also have the ability to exclude jobs based on the Agent Job Category.

Update the password of the account with powershell module
I do not want to use the base monitoring account, to monitor the different databases. So I need to use a separate account for that. In order to regularly be able to rotate the password of this account, I would need the PowerShell module be updated with a function to update the password.

save monitoring data of a specific day
When having performance related issues on environments we'd like to be able to "save" the data of a specific day or days in order to do a proper root cause analysis, even over a longer period of time.
Due to aggregation of data we're now seeing issues arise that after a certain period we're no longer able to access detailed monitoring data of that day through SQL Monitor. Being able to access this data in SQL Monitor helps us correlate this data against other monitoring systems even after aggregation.
Our suggestion would be to add a save button for a…4 votes -
AWS FSx drive status
In our company we are using AWS FSx drives for our SQL Server databases. The FSx drives are not real drives, they are more like a shared folder, I'm wondering if there is a way to add those drives on SQL Monitor so we can check disk space and get alerts. AWS has been adding more features for FSx drives to be used on SQL Servers. Right now the only way to monitor that is using AWS console or alerts, which are not very friendly and only available for some system administrators.

Central configuration of child base monitors from the parent/central base monitor
Context: We have a base monitor at our office connected to one or multiple base monitors at our clients environment.
Problem: To configure the base monitor at our clients location, we need to connect to that base monitor. In order for us to reach that base monitor we have a to connect through multiple VPN's and steppingstones, which makes a simple click a time consuming action for us.
Desired solution: We want to be able to configure a child base monitor from our central base monitor at our office. For example adding a member tot a group or check on…

Disk space alert
The disk space alert can be configured on Server-Level as a host machine alert, but the alert is fired for every Instance on that host.
As example, we have 5 instances on a sever, each instance has it's own drive, e.g.
instance1 on drive d:
instance2 on drive e:
instance3 on drive f:
etc.If one instance, e.g. instance2 on drive e: is filling up it disk, the alert is fired for all instances. We would like to see an alert only for the instance that is affected and not 5 alerts.

Would like to add row count and fill factor to the alert as depending on how many rows there are depends on whether a reaction is needed
