Welcome to the Redgate Monitor feature suggestions list. Tell us how we can improve Redgate Monitor by voting on these suggestions or by submitting your own ideas.

To give your idea the greatest possible impact, please follow these guidelines:
- Describe the goal you’re trying to accomplish, rather than a specific solution to get there
- If you have a favoured solution, add it as a comment to your suggestion
- Give us as much context as possible
- Only make one suggestion per post. If you have multiple ideas, submit them in separate posts
- Comment and vote on existing posts to develop the ideas — the Redgate Monitor team will often stay quiet initially about new suggestions to see what you have to say!

Export a Databases report to Excel including Name, Availability, Transactions/sec and Database size for any time period
In SQL Monitor I want to export a Databases report to Excel including Name, Availability, Transactions/sec and Database size for any time period. You can see this data and screenshot it, but it would be much more professional, useable and positive for management if I could deliver it in Excel instead of combining screenshots.

Otherwise will need to update all the alert type . Exchange sever groups cant be used if these type of notification email are forwarded from SMTP servers outside their infra .

Understanding what caused the Diskspace alert
When viewing a disk space alert, it would be very useful to view the disk space usage for the drive the alert is raised for?
Ideally I'd like to to be able to get to the page: the Estate | Disk usage | [and filtered for the Specific Server: Drive:]
I understand that on the detail page of the server, you can see the growth of the databases for the selected time period, but its not always db files that cause the alerts.

Frequency of the customer metric
It would be useful if we can specify frequency less than 1 minute in the custom metric. Because sometime we need to check any metrics more than once a minute.

It would be a great feature to have SQL Monitor suggest efficiency recommendations the way that vRealize Ops Manager does, which is basically a tool you point at the environment and it shows you efficiency recommendations. Rather than having to perform time consuming manual analysis.

Alert for the jobs that is successful but with warning or a step level having issue . currently this is only shown as warning in the Estate > Backup tab

Show Compressed Backup size on Estate > Backups Screen
Currently the backup size displayed on the Estate > Backup screen is the uncompressed backup size which is useful but it would also be useful to include the compressed backup size because that's going to be the raw file size on disk when backup compression is enabled.
Knowing the compressed backup size is pretty useful when trying to assess how big a backup will be on disk.

Report - Longest running queries: Include Stored Procedure name
Please include the name of the stored procedure (where applicable) in the report of "Longest running queries".
Currently I need to use SQL Search to find the procedure that includes the query.You can do a LEFT OUTER JOIN sys.objects using objectid to find the name (objectname) of the originating stored procedure.

Add waits, CPU, & IO to the "sort by" options on the Global Dashboard.
Currently there are only two choices to sort by for the Global Dashboard screen:
Name & Severity
It would be nice to add more options, as they are displayed in the tile view. The options of course would be waits, CPU, & IO.

silence alerts for x hours
If an alert is firing repetitively for say a job failure, to be able to silence the alert for a number of specified hours (not permanently) if you know it will recover later, but you don't want to disable the job - just want the alerts to stop temporarily

Be able to give users different access to different groups
I would like to be able to give some developers Read-only access level to some servers (or server group). For example Production servers.
But give them Standard access level to other servers (or server group) so they can clear alerts for example and configure their own alerts.

exclude databases from alerts with a named pattern
Some of our databases are named "XXX_Database", the "XXX" indicating that it should not be monitored. It would be nice to exclude those from alerts based on a given naming pattern.

Maintain Base Monitor Service Account between upgrades
Everytime you upgrade the base monitor (every 2 weeks), the service account that is configured to run the service gets reset to "Local System".
We have setup our system to run as a domain user to changing this everytime is painful.
The installer should respect the current user when upgrading.

Remove node from sql monitor for sql clusters
If i have a SQL cluster that has a non SQL witness I would like to just remove it so it does not get pulled into the warning system or the dashboard.. i in my case am using a NAS machine as a witness to the cluster.

Currently there is only data and log spaced used in percentage

ADD Support for GCP Cloud SQL (MSSQL managed instances)
As Google Cloud Platform increases their market share and adds features such as managed instances for Microsoft SQL Server, it would be great to have the ability to monitor those as well.
