Allow use of non-administrative shares
Instance-level monitoring requires the use of the default administrative shares, which are likely to be disabled on hardened production servers.
Allowing the use of user-specified shares on a per instance basis would provide a means of getting around this restriction.
sorry, can’t do – Microsoft’s APIs are too flakey

Agreed
This has been a problem also on Windows 2008 Servers I have in production.
Windows 2008 has by default administrative shares disabled and it requires registry changes and reboots of servers to enable this unsecure function. It is more adviseable and secure to use the above suggestion of configurable share locations.
Thanks
