Allow Groups to be created on Instance name rather than server name
For multiple instance hosts, each instance can have a separate functional purpose. However groups do not allow instance level granularity. It would be useful to have distinct instances from the same host in separate groups.
Tags can be used to indicate functional purpose for instances. See https://documentation.red-gate.com/sm/adding-and-managing-monitored-servers/applying-tags-to-monitored-servers.

Completely agree with Bart De Pauw. We want to grant one customer access to his instance but there are a dozen other instances on the same cluster so we can't do that currently.
It should also be possible to assign an instance to multiple groups. Some like to have the view geographically organised, others want it application-based, etc...
This can't be that hard to develop, can it? Would be much appreciated -

I have a cluster of hosts, and each host is serving multiple instances.
I'm lacking the possibility to grant user access rights to a particular instance, as currently it's only possible to grant it to a host. This is an essential requirement in terms of security segregation. In a couple of weeks I'll be having an external party which I need to grant access to our ERP instance, but I don't want to grant them (read-only)-access on any of our other instances hosted on the same cluster!
Please handle this with necessary importance.
Thank you -

I have the same use case. Integration and Staging SQL instances in the same server. Grouping at instance level would be useful.
